Is Dermablend Leg&Body Cover safe to use on face?
I usually use True Match L'oreal Liquid foundation on my face every once in a while, when I have "those" days. I ran out a couple days ago, and I was having a day where I had way too much acne to not wear foundation. So, I found L'oreal Dermablend Leg&Body cover, and only use a TINY bit to cover the acne on my face (I didn't have time to go shopping). But honestly, I have to admit, I LOVE IT, it goes with my skin very well, and the color doesn't look "off".
I know this was a silly thing to do, but I was desperate.
I don't want answers like "Wow, you're so stupid." or "Why would you do that?" Yes, I get what I did. Are there any dermatologists out there to answer this!? (:
I am not a dermatologist, but I'm an esthetician. I don't see any reason that this wouldn't be ok on your face. The only think that may be an issue is if it has emollients (moisturizers) in it that would be fine on your legs, but may cause your face to break out. If you are not seeing problems like that, and it's working for you, then go for it. Anything that is tested by the FDA to be safe for skin would most likely be fine for your face too, just as long as you keep it away from mucus membranes, i.e. mouth, nose and eyes. Hope this helps!

Choosing the Best Skin Care Products for You
How do you choose the right type of skin care products for you skin? You could find a brand you’re happy with in one product and just stick with it for everything. After all, if a cleanser works for you, then the creams they make should work as well, right?
Not necessarily. All skin is not alike and all skincare isn’t alike, either. You want different things from your products to alleviate different types of problems. The ingredients of one brand’s cleanser may be what you need to alleviate your dry skin, but they may not have what you need in a moisturized to help prevent aging.
If you have to get a different product for each aspect of your skincare, you could end up spending your entire morning cleaning and moisturizing. For instance, you may want something that reduces oiliness, treats acne, and adds moisture that won’t encourage the acne. You don’t want to get a cleanser that’s good for every type of skin and then add a toner to take the oil out. Follow by a moisturizer made for oily skin and then a cream that treats acne. You only need to use so many products on your face at one time, so you need to find products that serve more than one purpose.
When you look for a cleanser for oily skin, look for one that is affective against acne. Everybody that has oily skin doesn’t have acne, and vice versa. Find a cleanser that will start your skin care regimen with the right care for you, no matter what your skin type.
Moisturizer is important for every skin type as well. For oily skin with acne, again, find one that is not only for oily skin but has ingredients that fight acne. If you have oily skin without acne, don’t use a moisturizer that has acne medications. There’s no use to use something you don’t need when it may just cause another problem you don’t need.
That covers skin care for your face, but what about your body? Experts will often tell you that you shouldn’t use body soaps on your face or facial creams on your body. The reason they are usually treated differently is that your skin type on your face may not be anything like the skin type on the rest of your body. Your face may be dry and your back and chest are oily. Using the same skin care products from head to toe is bound to cause a problem in one area or the other.
Also, we treat our faces differently because they are the part of ourselves we show to the world. We put makeup on them that can lead to skin problems if we don’t use the right type of cleansers as frequently as needed.
When you want to find the best skin care products for your skin, knowing your own skin is the most important factor to take into consideration. Look for products that have ingredients to perform for your skin type, not something they don’t need.
