Borders Ereader

Book availability internationally with ereaders (Kindle, Nook, Kobo?)?

I am going to Japan and I want access to American books. I don't mind uploading books from my computer instead of downloading them directly to the device or anything like that, but I have sort of eclectic tastes and want something with a wide variety of available titles. I like the price of the Kobo and it looks great, but as of now there is not a good variety of books on the kobo site, I don't know if there will be more when the ereader actually comes out with the partnership with Border's. I don't need anything complicated, I don't need it to read to me or highlight things or take notes. I just want to read.

For American books, some are accessible outside the U.S. while some are not, they all depends on the publisher. So if it is not available outside the U.S. on the Nook, then it won't be available on the Kindle or Kobo too. However, many American books are still available to people outside the U.S.

And actually if your Amazon account has credit card and shipping address set to U.S. address, then you should be able to access all American books even you're outside of U.S. If book selection is your major concern, then you should go for the Kindle as Amazon has the best selection and price of books for their Kindle.
