How do I turn a record sleeve into CD artwork?

I am currently copying my vinyl onto CD; is there any way I can 'shrink' the record album cover to fit a CD case? I mean, I want the CD to have the same album cover as its vinyl counterpart. Thanks!
How would I fit the album cover onto the scanner? It's wider than the scanner itself.

Scan it using a color scanner and print out a size you need for CD cover.
