my friend just got this Nikon d40 AF-s nikkor 18-55mm 1.3.5.5.6 g ed....
he just camera no charger no cover , no pc data cable... cuss he cant find it..
he had it for Lil bit... so my question is .... he is selling me for 100 dollar is it a good buy???
and what else i would need with that.. to complete the kit .... and can i get bigger lens ???
basically i am looking for whole kit ,.. where could i buy it for fare price ????
Well assuming the camera and lens are in good shape. The charger will cost you about $50, lens caps will be a few dollars and a data cable will be a few more dollars.
Does he have the software that came with the camera? If not you really don't need it. You can import your pictures using a card reader ($10) into my pictures or any other editing program. You can probably purchase the software from Nikon. You can get a PDF file of the manual free from the Nikon website as well.
For about $175 you can get everything you will need. The camera new will be $450. You can purchase a longer lens if you would like. The AFs 55-200mm VR is a good choice. Cost is about $250.
Here is the battery charger and other supplies you will need.

This is the software that would have come with the camera. The camera will work perfectly fine without it. Here it is though.

AT&T Sidekick LX?
Okay, so I've found this amazingly beautiful Sidekick LX on Ebay. It says that in the box you get the phone itself, the battery, the home charger, car charger, handsfree kit, data cable, holster, and micro SD. (is this a good deal for $575?)
Another important question. It says that it will work with AT&T. What i've heard is that you can't use the internet, but you can text and make calls. Here's the thing. I just upgraded to another phone (which I obviously don't like) and thus extended my contract with AT&T a few months ago. If I just pop my SIM card out and pop it into the Sidekick, will it work with it? If not, what do I have to do? I have seen the actual cingular sim card in a TMobile Sidekick before.

$575 is waaaaaaay too much i got my LX when it first came out whole sale for $400 no contract. so dont get it from there try craigslist or even at t-mobile it will be cheaper without a contract. im pretty sure than $575 thats outrageous
as for the AT&T question im not sure.
