cord Fit Pandora
I have a "Bosch" W/D but differ in model # so the washer plug n dryer receptacle wont fit is it OK to change ?
My washer & dryer are both "Bosch at 240v but the dryer is a "axis" so the receptacle doesn't match the electrical cord on the washer and only one wall outlet to supply to either one, and while on ebay one day I found thee exact receptacle needed to make this all peachy. but a little skeptic on buying it if it might just end up opening Pandora's box and cause a problem for either machine, though it's a simple change I'm just not sure of, if any harm may occur. anybody have a clue or are familiar enough with this type of scenario and willing to speak on it without just guessing or having a hunch like myself,... anybody?
Your electrical service has two hot wires that are 120 volts each or together 240 volts.
Your 120 volt outlet has one hot wire and one neutral wire. The neutral wire returns the current path to the service.
Just follow the hot wire back to the panel or look it up on the side if it is listed. And run the other hot side phase wire to the outlet. Get a dual 240 volt outlet to match the dryer and washer plugs.
If you grab the wrong phase for the new wire you'll only have 120 volts.
Do not touch the two phases together!
