The hard crystal clear cases would be the better choice. They will handle and protect your Nintendo DS a lot better than the silicon cases.

What to do with broken quartz crystal?
I dropped my favourite clear quartz crystal and a large-ish piece chipped off. I love this particular crystal. It was a pendant, but the crystal came loose from its casing, so i wore it tucked inside my erm, bra... . In any case,what should I do? Thank and "retire" the crystal ,or continue using it? Its been really helpful to me. Thanks!
You could bury the broken off piece, then cleanse the rest of it in sea salt or the full moon's rays. Then keep it next to you on the bedside table, as it then should still be has powerful as it has been. Or if you are totally thru with it, then bury it by a tree and leave it to intergrate back to the earth.
Usually when a crystal breaks it hasn't been cleansed, and is full of negative energy. Once you cleanse it it should be good as new.
