Ebook Reader Cases why would anyone buy an ebook reader?
they cost 200$+, and you still have to pay for the book without getting the vanity of actually having the book. i know you can get a few classic books free with it, but thats not worth it. If you would want to read several books at once i guess it could be good for that all though i don't know who would do that.
the only case it would pay off having one is if you torrent some ebooks for free (as in the new ones that cost more), but for the price you can get netbook or a labtop and do the same thing plus much more not to mention i can't see many of the ebook buyers actually using torrents like these.
I don't like the idea of reading my books on an e-reader. I like the feel of the pages of an actual book. I like having my nose buried in a book, and e-readers just seem too light and casual to allow that.
However, I am considering buying an e-reader (Barnes & Noble's Nook) because I can have thousands of books at my fingertips, without having books stacked on every horizontal surface of my home. I'm in my 40's and seriously, the sheer volume of books that I can't part with is getting out of hand.
I think there will come a day when books printed on paper are much more expensive and available only in a limited supply. Maybe libraries will offer e-reader loans instead of hardback volumes. Getting an e-reader now and getting accustomed to the idea before it is a necessity is my plan.
I do read several books at a time, and when I'm sitting by the pool in the summer, I tend to carry 4-6 different books with me. It will be a lot easier to just carry one little e-reader.
I resisted the whole idea of carrying a phone in my pocket that allowed people to reach me 24/7, but now rarely leave home without it. I resisted the idea of an MP3 player, preferring my stacks and stacks of CD's but now my IPod rides around in my pocket with my cell phone (I should probably get an IPhone, huh?).
Try to embrace the technology or it will run you over.
