Palm Pilot Question!!?

I want an eBook reader thing sooo bad. But they're a little too expensive. I heard you could use a palm pilot as an eBook. Any suggestions as to what model I could use instead of an eBook reader? Thanks!!

Adobe reader has caused me some trouble from time to time. It's not a really good mobile reader in my opinion. I needed to use other software to handle my PDFs better than Adobe's own software can.

eReader is a popular mobile reader as is Mobipocket. I have both installed (they're both free) on my x51v (running Windows Mobile). I have a ton of ebooks I've bought that are in secure eReader (formerly known as PalmReader) format (which is why I still use eReader) back when I owned a Palm OS device. Both can be installed on multiple platforms without any real restrictions. But I have to honestly say that you should avoid secure Adobe formats if you can. They are a real pain to work with when trying to install and transfer onto a mobile device. It's further compounded by Adobe always switching the way they handle DRM formats (it's not universal and a previous version may not work or isn't compatible with a later version). I've lost quite a few secure PDF books because of it.

At least if you own a Palm OS or Windows Mobile device, you can use it for other things and not just a reader. Organizing your life is a fine example what you can do with a PDA.

If you only want something simple and not complex to use, you're probably better off with a Palm OS device. If you want more functionality and a little more complexity, go with a Windows Mobile device. As there are several different devices that run either or, it comes down to your preferences (what you want and expect from the device). Unfortunately, that's where I really can't help you out there. Good luck in your decision.
