Will book stores like Barnes and Noble be around in 5 years or go away like music stores?

I love going to Barnes and Noble to buy books, CDs and magazines. In the next 5 years will they still be in business or go away like music stores did? Will electronic book readers catch on? Or will people still like reading paperbacks and going to the book store?

I hope book stores will be around for a long time.
Sony now has an electronic reader where you can download up to 150 book titles and read throuhg this electronic divice. The sony reader only has 2 hours of battery life. How could you take something like that camping or on an airplane?

I hate e-books. A book is something where you turn the page. Not an electronic device.

Real book stores will never go away, but they will re-invent themselves somewhat, like Borders has already done, adding coffee shops, club memberships that offer special discounts, special sales,etc. What is and will continue to disappear is the small "mom-and-pop" non-chain book store.

No one wants to pay full, listed price for a book these days, and chain stores make sure that most times, a customer does not have to.

As for me, I will NEVER choose an electronic book or newspaper over the page-turning, hold-in-my-hand, spread or set-upon-the-table, take-on-the-train, honest-to-God actual article!

Sound passionate? As a writer, I am. But as a reader, I am even MORE passionate.

how many bookmarks does the kindle or sony reader allow?

after reading the answers to my other questions so far, i know it can, but also ran across a discussion forum that said the kindle only allowed so many something like 60 bookmarks. is this per book, or total for the kindle? and does the sony have the same limitations? 60 or so bookmarks seems small, considering that i can hold more than 100 books on one electronic reader...
