Is it okay to use a Kobo eReader on international flights?
I have a Kobo reader. The OFFsetting still leaves something on the screen. I understand that this is just the way it works. However, I was wondering whether it would be okay to take into the cabin of an international flight in that Kobo's OFF is not completely OFF, and you are often asked to turn off electronic devices when the plane is landing or taking off.
This is ok. If it has a transmit function (for instance, eReaders like the Kindle have wifi capability to download eBooks), that must be turned off. However, it's ok if it's just "asleep" or in a low power state and not completely off. Just don't use it during ascent/descent and you won't have a problem.
