The worlds water source?

Sorry if i spell some things wrong. Top scientists are saying the earth is running out of water. At first i didn't get this because over 70% of the world is covered by water. I finally understood that most of that 70% is saltwater and people can't drink saltwater, but there are machines that can seperate salt from the water and make it fresh clean drinkable water. I asked this question many times to different people, why dont we just use these machines to make the water pure and clean to drink, and they would say that it takes to much energy to do this using great amounts of electricity and gas. I thought to myself why not juyst use soler power for this stuff. Is the world just to lazy to look at this problem. If we dont something about this all of earth's water will be gone. Please post your opinions.

The earth isn't "running out" of fresh water as precipitation will continue to occur. We are, however, consuming clean water at an ever growing rate. Our water problem lies in the fact that population density doesn't follow rainfall amounts or reservoir availability. (e.g. Las Vegas) You are right that technology exists to correct the problem, but at a cost. For industrialized nations, it's really a matter of transportation. Although the price of water would increase if the water had to be produced from salt water (reverse osmosis, distillation, etc...) and a pipeline built to transport the water, but it would remain available. It is likely that people couldn't afford to water their lawns, but they could drink.
In poor nations where the population density is extremely high and the infrastructure is undeveloped, they simply can't afford the cost. There are countries that use solar and even wave energy to generate fresh water, but again, they can afford it. Note: Solar energy decreases in efficiency with distance from the equator and requires "sunny" days. Seattle wouldn't benefit from solar energy, but then again, it has the highest rainfall amount in the nation. Convenient.

About the world being lazy, those with the ability and resources to solve the problem aren't the ones living with the problem.

Solar Energy: High Investment But Higher Returns In Long Run

Solar energy is the cleanest and low cost uninterrupted power provider to your house. But the cost of installation of solar energy is too high. It may go up to $500 for minimum requirement. Well, the recurring cost of solar energy is very low. Not only this, solar energy requires the minimum maintenance cost where as power supplied from the power grid by the companies requires high maintenance. As it comes all the way from the manufacturing unit to home, it also undergoes breakage and damage of the wires and other accessories. This again costs much. In solar energy set up there is minimum or no breakage or damage. It continues to provide power without any friction.

Not only this, solar power energy keeps the environment healthy and clean. This is also a type of investment return for us. It does not pollute the atmosphere and so we breathe fresh.

   Right guys. To clear this up, I don't think he means that it's going to make the engine any bigger, 'cos thats just impossible. He means it's designed for engines sizes 49-150cc.
