What brand, type and model do you suggest I buy? I need something that has a color display, and about the size of an A4 paper.

I've become interested in eReaders lately. After doing online research, I've decided to buy the Nook Color. It costs about $250.
The only major competitors are the Amazon Kindle and the iPad. I don't like the layout or features of the Kindle, and the iPad is a bit more than I need, in addition to being much more expensive.
