b&n Nook books not showing up on my device.?

I just got my Nook today (yay!), and when i went to buy a book from my device, an 'unexpected error' message came up. So, i bought a book from my computer, and it is showing up in my b&n desktop ereader, but not on the actual device. help?

I did the same thing and have been frustrated all day about not being able to access my books.

I called Customer Service and they said that the system has been down all day....they think it will be up today or tomorrow, so thats why you cant view anything!

The ebooks should automatically download to the nook but it seems that you can go into your library (online) and with the nook plugged into your computer drag the ebook into the My Documents folder and it will appear.

Now that you mention it, I bought into the second stage of Rocket with their RCA reader. It was the best reader out there with backlighting, labeling, underlining and subscriptions to the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, on an on. Today the device sits in my desk drawer as it has for the last decade or so, the best eReader device ever made…now unsupported and unusable. Much as I love eReaders there’s no way I’ll invest hundreds of dollars more for another “door stop” which they’ll all be within months of purchase when the technology changes or deals with publishers go South.

Edit. Note: This is wrong information. Both Kindle and Sony allow sharing the same book between different Kindles (or in the case of the Kindle iPhones etc.). See Next Comment for more details.

You missed one important part in making a good ereader… the ability to share a book…

Sony ereader already allowed for this option where four ereader devices can be connected to one library account… allowing a family of four to share in one purchased ebook… Kindle currently requires that each buy their own… Any book reader knows that it is much nicer to be able to lend a book or have it in a family library where all family members can have access to… Sony ereader addresses this … a buying feature for me, if only they could improve on the others…
