Ereader.com and the Sony reader?

Can you purchase ebooks from ereader.com and put them on a sony reader? I don't see any info on reader.com about the text it use for it's books. I am thinking about buying a sony reader and want to know where I can buy ebooks besides ebookstore.com

   If you get an iPod Touch or iPhone you can use Kindle software and purchase books from Amazon. You can also use eReader and purchase from several other sites. You can also download from many public library digital collections – both digital and audio books. You can also purchase audio books from Audible.com. Very user friendly and easy to use.
