Can you buy the kindle e books off amazon to put onto your sony reader?
does the formatting work for both devices the same way? this kind of sounds stupid
No you cannot. The Kindle and Sony Reader support different format. And Kindle books are only readable on the Kindle. You can read a good comparison of the supported format here:
