How might a feminist philosophy of religion approach the question of the nature and existence of God?
Would it be different from a male's approach
Pagan and Shamanic religions, dating back to Paleolithic times, have always honoured the Goddess as well as the God and sometimes instead of. In Paleolithic times when women remained with the children while the men hunted they were in control of every aspect of life, surprisingly enough a matriarchal society. As time went on and Goddess and God were said to preside equally women were forced to take more of a back seat, until eventually every orthodox faith was based around a man, with the exception of The Madonna who is famed only for who she was in relation to a man. The Goddess was forgotten and all elements of those faiths demonised. However nature based faiths are making a come back and terms like Gaia and the Goddess are being heard more often. The Goddess was perceived as bringer of life but also powerful and terrible, she predates the Zoroastrian idea of the benign god.
