Great Condition Loads
Have people had major problems with their BMW 5 series after the warranty expires. Are the services expensive?
I am about to buy a certified pre-owned 2005 BMW 525i in great condition. Fully loaded with Nav, sports package, etc. Only issue is that manufaturers original warranty expires in one year - the extended goes for 2 more years beyond that. I am trying to get a feel for if this is a good deal (car priced at 30K from dealer) and should I worry about services/repairs, etc. I also have the option for buying a 2006 which will give me about 9 more months extra for an additional $3000. Is this is a better deal.

I work on these quite a bit, they go through brake and rotors especially the front, the nav system has had it's share of problems around 60 k you will need a water pump and a radiator about the same time, depending or tires they go about 15-20 k before you need to replace them, get the best extewnded warranty you can if you decide to buy ths car.As far as maintance on the 06 not much different

How much should I charge for a 2007 Saturn Sky loaded except for the leather package 27,000 miles great cond? ?
The cars in excellent condition. I looked it up on Kelly Blue Book and couldn't believe what price they where giving me to sell it to a private party! At max it said $19,000 something, I paid close to $32,000 for it.
Some cars tend to depreciate more than others, with almost no rhyme or reason to it at all. Many smart consumers research depreciation values before purchasing cars, although one probably wouldn't do that for such a kick-ass car as the Sky- sometimes other benefits are worth more than depreciation values. Some possible reasons for this drop in value include the fact that it is an American car, and American cars generally depreciate much quicker than, say, Japanese cars. Also, the Sky is a car that has passed in prime in the public's eye, meaning it doesn't garner as much excitement as when it first came out. Also, there are some great competitors to the Sky out there, which offer more benefits and/or value to consumers.
Nevertheless, you already looked at Kelly Blue Book which is a good start. Check out the calculator on edmunds.com, as well as other sites such as cars.com, ebaymotors.com, or Yahoo! Autos.
