Headset Amazon
Amazon 1st class delivery.. I ordered I on the 14th October and it says it going to deliver it on the 19th?
So I ordered a wireless headset off amazon I ordered it on the 14th (yesterday) and it says it Gunna deliver it on the 19th this is off amazon and it is 1st class royal mail why is this happening?
The chances are that is because Amazon are allowing themselves some extra time.
Amazon has a big depot near Milton Keynes where its orders are dispatched from, and Royal Mail has a facility on site - meaning that Amazon hands items directly into the postal network. This means that Amazon will usually get a 1-2 day delivery with First Class, but only after they dispatch it.
When I've ordered from them in the past, I've found that Amazon will despatch orders a day or so after I actually order them. Presumably this is because of the time taken to organise the stock and package it.
It may also be that they have dispatched the item already, but they are just giving you a date further away just in case. Its possible that they are over-estimating the delivery time, to allow for potential strikes or other delays. You may receive it sooner.
Remember that unless its posted by Special Delivery, you can only get a delivery estimate with Royal Mail - no guaranteed time. It may come early, it may come a day or so late.
