Iliad Book Reader
sony reader ?is it worth it ? is there any other product like this ?
i'm planning to buy a sony e-reader. I read alot of e-books on my laptop and my eyes get tired soon, so i'm considering to buy the reader. is there any other product like this that has more or maybe the same features. How's the irex iliad ?
My boss actually has one that I played with a bit.
I found the software interface to be somewhat clunky.
Plus, you either need to obtain the book in Sony's e-reader format or PDF. Right now, there just isn't a lot of book availability in these formats.
Before you spend the money, maybe research other things you could do with your laptop, e.g. adjust the contrast, use a different program, adjust font sizes, etc. Fundamentally, the Sony Reader screen is built with the same technology as your laptop screen.

What is the overall purpose of the Iliad???????
I know the main theme is wrath and rebirth of humanity, but whats the POINT that the book is trying to make to readers???? What lessons does it teach?
Any examples from the book to show this?

It was Homer's history lesson.
Agamemnon got taught a lesson in humility.
Achilles learned that it was better to die young in a blaze of glory and be remembered through all eternity than to be meek and live to old age.
The story changed that way that bronze age cultures thought about war. It was no longer honourable and conducted in the open air. Odysseus' trickery blighted the noble conquest.
The whole war was doomed from the start anyway, because of the human sacrifice of Iphigenia at Aulis
It set the stage for the Odyssey.
