How To Get People To Notice Your Kindle Book

If you are a new author and have signed up with Amazon's Kindle program, you are most likely wanting to sell more of your books.  You could have financial reasons to make money or you are using the platform to gain some reputation so that one day a publisher might publish your works or build a following.  The issue with the Kindle store is that even if you are listed, it does not guarantee that anyone will browse or buy your book.  There are some things that can be done to get attention for your books.

The internet offers many advantages to have a platform to give people information about your book but it has to be done in a respectful way.  No one likes a spammer so don't randomly contact people and don't abuse the social media that the internet provides.  If you use the tools in a respectful manner, you will gain a good reputation and people will look at your work.

Join social media and use it.  This would be things like Facebook, Twitter, and social bookmarking sites like Digg and others.  You can also use forums that might be about writing or your preferred style of writing.

Become involved in these communities posting relevant information.  Generally speaking you can have a signature that links to your book or better yet your blog.  Provide good information and good content on these types of sites and create a following for yourself.  If you do this, people will learn to trust and respect you.  The odds are that as people learn who you are they will be much more likely to download your materials like your Kindle preview than not.

While it's not the quickest way of marketing, it does work over time.  The more you learn about these tools the better you can become at it all.  Eventually these methods will help a writer get noticed.  At that point the quality of your work and writing will determine if you are successful.
