Will books ever be extinct in this lifetime?

im 33 and this would be a nightmare for me , theres nothing better than going to a bookstore to order and buy a good book, then having it delivered and owning it /possessing it .

i heard recently, due to electronic devices and ebooks through electronic devices like the internet and kindle - that in the future , actual physical paper books will become obsolete / extinct because the electronic versions will take their place ?

does anyone think this grim prediction might ever become true in this lifetime ?

I definetely agree with you -there's nothing better that a good book!
I really hope they won't. Even if they do become obsolete, I will keep my old books. A book you can't keep in your hands, write on it, keep it next to your bed, is just not a real book. We have all heard about that, I mean that books will become exctinct,but I think that for now we don't have to worry. There are many fanatic book readers yet.
