do some research. With the new kindle, you can lend books, you can't upgrade storage (3500 bokks is more than enough for me tho) the battery lasts a friggin month, you have always been able to try a book before buying it (since the first gen kindle came out on '07) and touch screen is not needed, just a little perk to get customers to buy. It slows the machine down, and reduces battery life
