Help !!! require best hertz for lcd to reduce eye tiredness?
I just got my LCD and was previously using a standard crt with glare guard , when I switch , i started to encouter eye fatigue and it wasn't gd , I wish to ask does the hertz make a difference or what could be the problem that causes this . normally I spent about 3-4 hrs and max would be 7hrs (rarely ) on the cpu and I am currently using 60 hertz as indicated by my PC, the max is 75 hertz Thank you so much
LCDs typically work (good) at only one preset factory resolution, if it says 75, use 75, not 60 or it'll look blurry and hurt your eyes after time.
Go through the rate settings and visually inspect them. On LCDs, it's an obvious difference, one of them will just look MUCH more crisp and clear than the others. If you have the box of the monitor (or check the manufacturer website), see what the "default rate and resolution" are and use it at that and that only.
For example, my screen is 19" and works at 1280x1024 @75Hz, and ANYTHING else is blurry, my GF's screen is 19" and works up to 1280x1024 @75Hz, BUT.... it's default refresh rate is 60Hz, so it looks MUCH better and it's healthier to use it at that.
A lot of smaller screens work at 1024px or less, but have a higher refresh rate like 85Hz+. Again, the two best ways are a visual inspection, or check with the paperwork. Your PC will not automatically detect the optimal resolution, just what's compatible.
Bottom line is, the picture on an LCD is MUCH more crisp and less eye straining than a CRT, if you're not getting it, you need to switch until you get it. Negative side is that there's no flexibility (you need to use all your games and full-screen applications at that resolution as well, or the effect is gone).

I have an iPod Touch 2g. I do not use a screen protector. I like to have the full experience of the great screen, and avoid air bubbles and hairs, dust etc stuck on/under it. I would use no screen protector if
I were you. Just leave it in a bag or case when you aren't using it to protect it from scratches. I've had mine since it came out and not a scratch to be seen.
