I'm sure they will, at some time. Schools just take a while to "get with the program".
When I was at school we weren't allowed to bring calculators to class. (Not that I could have afforded one… when I was a kid a basic four-function calculator would cost hundreds of dollars, and be the size of a large book anyway.) When my kids went to school they were required to have scientific calculators. The high school they went to today requires students to have emaail accounts and submit homework electronically. Technology marches on.
