best portable ebook reader in india...?

Hi,
I want to knw if there is an alternative to apple ipad...there is kindle and infibeam pi...what abt brands like sony reader etc...?

There is only the Sony Reader which is available to India. The Barnes and Noble Nook, which is also popular in the United States, cannot work outside the U.S.

However, Sony Reader doesn't give good content support. Many people find it difficult to find some books on the Sony Reader, and ebooks for it are more expensive. The Amazon Kindle is the best on content support and ebook price. There are some good comparison between the two ebook readers here:

One thing is that you can only order the Kindle from Amazon's site, and get it shipped to you from the U.S. Even for people inside the United States, the only place to get the device is through Amazon's website, as it is an online store with no retail shop.
