protecting a touch screen phone?

I have a LG Vu http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phone-details/?device=LG+VU(TM)&q_sku=sku2490219 and I don't really want one of the invisible shield things, I'm more concerned about protecting the touch pad while its in my purse and getting a little knocked around. I don't want the touch sensor to get ruined.
I was thinking of getting one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Black-White-Zebra-Design-Protective/dp/B001BC28LK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1219022374&sr=1-4

http://www.amazon.com/LG-Rubber-Silicone-Case-Cover/dp/B001AZU01S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1219089180&sr=1-1

but none of these really cover the screen, any suggestions?

im not sure. but i was looking for the same thing...

joining silicone to silicone. would sewing work?? thank you.?

you know those little silicone covers for Ipod that you can get. like this one?? http://www.silicone-wristbands.co.nz/sil... i was wanting one for my phone but i can't buy one anywhere so i was hoping to make one.

what i was wondering, would it be possible to sew silicone to create a protective covering for my phone?? i want something to absorb the shock if i drop it and protect it from water etc

and if so, do i need a special needle, thread etc.. because i'm thinking the silicone might rip if i puncture it.. or is there another way i could join it somehow??

if you don't think this will work can you recommend any other material i might be able to use that will provide the same protection... and i don't really want to use leather.

Thank You so much everyone!!!

a silicone based adhesive might work. Try "shoe goo" or one of the other versions of that product sold by the same company. You can find it in the glue section of large home product stores like Menard's or home depot, or probably at some regular hardware stores.

Good luck
