Reader Device What is the device called where you insert a photo card into a usb driver adapter / photo card reader?
A long time ago I used to have a small usb camera card reader device where you could insert a camera card and it would be like a mini drive for your computer to download the photos from a camera card. I need one for an SD card and perhaps today they make one that has slots for all of the cards.
I want to know what it's called so I can buy one online
Why would I want such a thing?
A) The card reader in my computer doesn't work
B) it's all full of dust all the time so I wouldn't want to use it anyway
C) It's hard to find the slot and it's a pain to reach way down there all the time

its called a card reader and there are different types depending on the type of card you have, i.e., compact flash card reader, sd card reader, and you can buy theese at wal mart, walgreens, target, and online almost anywhere probaly the cheapest at newegg.com thou. They do have card readers that are 5 in 1 and 4 in 1 and they will have slots for multiple cards.

What Does the term "failed to obtain thumbnails from a device" mean?
I am unsure of what thumbnails are? I am trying to download some pics on a card reader device. I have already been transferring pics but now its saying this crap about thumbnails. PLEASE HELP!
The program you are using probably cannot read the type of format the pics are in OR there is not enough space on the card to make the thumbnails. Try copying them to your hard drive and then see what happens.
