Reading Device Latest New laptop with Vista, put loada CDs on latest version of iTunes, but no USB port will recognise my IPOD. HELP
Laptop doesn't even recognise the introduction of a mass storage device as expected, just says unknown device.
Have tried downloading driver updates from Apple website, after initialising the dialogue says not applicable to my system(it is the correct bit version download too).
Before anyone suggests the preferences may be set to divert power away from the USB ports I have checked and they are not
Have tried to shutdown, unplug from mains, disconnect battery overnight, restart with ipod already connected in all combinations.
The cable is good, have confirmed with a friends identical model ipod, 4g btw.
I can play contents of ipod using headphones just fine, so ipod cannot be corrupted(by vista?) can it?
To top all this I have tried my Ipod in my old desktop and the same unrecognised, device malfunction dialogue appears.
Any experts out there?
All advice much appreciated as I would rather not have to invest in a new model.
Thanks for reading..........
