Iphone/itouch replacement?

Well i have an ipod touch, and im sick and tired of iphone/ apple/ itunes so i want to be able to find a smartphone that does the following...... 8gb, Wifi, Touchschreen, Ebook reader, mp3, email, calender, contacts, maps and weather.

give me your suggestions please,

Wait for the Nokia N97 or get the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music.

Both of them are Nokia Series 60 5th Edition Smartphones (Nokia's line-up of smartphones) that run on Symbian OS 9.4.

You can get all the stuff you want on it! Remember, a smartphone is USELESS without applications. The phone also comes pre-built with applications such as Office Readers, HTML Browsers, etc. but it would be best to buy more apps for it so you can fully use the smartphone features.

I also recommend waiting for the N97 because it has a higher processing power than the 5800 XM.

All In One Smartphone PDA MP3 Video Ebook Reader - Which to get?

i currently have the palm treo 755p with lots of applications to do many of these things above, but i want it more "supped up" and more powerful processor for game emulation, speed, better camera, etc... its just a few years old technology..

Im looking for a smartphone that is ALL IN ONE... I want it to be able to be an mp3 player w bluetooth, pda, play movies via large GB SDHC memory cards, a good basic camera w 5mp at least, pdf jpeg ebook reader would be nice. Wifi would be great as well. I was looking at the samsung omnia, palm pre, palm treo pro, htc tough pro, nokia n series (not sure which is the latest n series). unlocked is a good idea, but im not under contract with any provider so I can switch to anything. These are just the ones I know of...im sure there is more to choose from...

thanks for your help in pointing me in the right direction

I'd go with HTC. I've got a universal(ppc) and a vox(smartphone) and they both do just about the same things. Vox is a little under powered but still manages emulation ok
