What is happening when my sony ericsson k550i is charging, nothing shows up and on the top a red light flashes?

I was listening to music, then my sony ericsson froze, i took off the battery then put it back and turned my phone on but it only has a white screen, took off battery then put it back and tried charging but nothing shows up and top flashes red.

Are you sure the charger works?.
Try charging USB or in-car and see if the problem still occurs.
