The Sony Prs-350: Pros and cons?
im looking for my first ereader. my friend is getting me a deal on this sony model and trying to see if its worth it. Im not a big reader but am hoping this will help me read a bit more. Is this a good model. Can i buy from different online book stores. Please just give me whatever pros and cons of this device that u think would help in my decision.

The PRS-350 is the pocket series reader. It has a smaller screen than most e-readers (5" diagonal)
Currently you can buy last year's version for about $99 through Sony and several other retailers. The price alone makes it a good deal. You can buy from different online bookstores including Sony's Reader store. It is a wired e-reader, meaning you must download your book purchases to your computer, then connect with a USB cable to transfer those books to your reader device. The battery life on this unit is going to be fantastic, probably close to two weeks without charging. It is the smallest e-reader I have ever seen so it will fit in almost any purse or jacket pocket. Because it is a Sony, it is physically tougher than most other e-readers (these have metal bodies, not plastic) and because it uses epub format, you can borrow books from public libraries.
I lot of people seem to think the "not a wireless device" part is a major con with these devices, but unless you have no computer, it really won't matter. I have had a Sony for over 2 years and I read more than most people (I have over 650 books in those 2 years) and I have never been unable to wait until I got home to download something.

Ebook readers have become all the rage in recent years and there is good reason for that. They are small, lightweight and can hold thousands of books on a single device as well as download new books direct to the machine. There are many ebook readers now on the market such as Amazon's Kindle, Barnes and Noble's Nook, Sony eReader and Apple's iPad. So where do you turn to get a cheap ebook reader?
