New Social Networking Website Takes on the Big Boys

Without a doubt, the most coveted prize of the Internet based business world today is the top slot in the social networking category. It’s a Royal Rumble of heavy weights like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, all competing for that most priceless commodity of Joe Cyber…His free time. However, there is a new contender for the social networking crown, and although he is far from being a heavyweight yet, his skill set brings such a unique advantage to the table, he could revolutionize the social networking world, and leave heavy weights like MySpace and Facebook, shaken up enough to have to change their britches, or at least their product offering.

Who is this feisty new scraper with knockout potential? His name's Indepemedia.com.

Indepemedia stands for independent media and their name rings true on a whole lot of levels. First of all, they aren’t just competing with one of the heavy hitters…they're competing with all of them. Subscribers have the personal page malleability of Facebook, along with all the same features of keeping up with the latest and the greatest of all your friends' status updates and photos. Videos can be uploaded, browsed and searched with service comparable to that of YouTube, and a Twitter-like micro-blogging feature, are all readily available and easy to use.

All this makes a lot of sense when you think about how much time the average web surfer has a day to dedicate to social networking (SN) and social media (SM).
