Kindle vs. Sony Ereader?

First off I do not care about the wifi feature of the kindle, and I do prefer to have a back up copy of everything I order on my computer. But what I'm wondering is which one would you suggest? Also are both (or one or the other) great for text books. Because I am headed to college soon and it would be alot easier to carry one of these things instead of a whole bunch of text books.

The biggest issue is the content availability. The Kindle is supported by Amazon with much more book selections. Kindle books are also cheaper than the actual books, so it will save you money in long term. Amazon also provide thousands of Kindle books for free or at a low price. Sony reader is much weaker in this area.

The latest version of sony reader is good for the touch screen function, and also a bit smaller in size. Sometimes I'll think that the Kindle 2 is a bit too big to fit in my purses, as it has a keypad at the bottom. It is not a big problem though. There is, however, drawback for the touch screen of Sony Reader, as I heard that it makes the screen looks glare and not comfortable for reading.
