Amazon Kindle in Latin America?
I am interested in buying an Amazon Kindle (last gen, international) which I read had "global wireless conectivity". I live in Lima, Peru (west coast of Latin America) and I wanted to know if it's true that if I bring it from US I can still access the Amazon's Store to buy and download ebooks (I checked their coverage map and it said my area had EDGE/GPRS speeds (not 3G)). Also if it's possible to do so, am I gonna have to pay an "extra" to access these services? If the Kindle doesn't meet these requierements of mine, what other ebook reader with a similar accessability to their store can I buy? (sadly, I read on www.cnet.com that the Barnes and Noble Nook doesn't work abroad)
If you are registered as being from Peru your book downloads, wikipedia, etc. will be free, but the books will be slightly more expensive in part to make up for this. You will also have a more limited selection since they have to agree with the publishers on a country or regional basis. If you look at the Kindle store while being signed in from your current location you should be able to get an idea of the cost and availability. If you register as a US user you'd need a US credit card and address and you would have access to the US material, but there would be a fee for downloads wirelessly (you could always download via USB for free)

At this point it is assumed that you have access to a computer connected to the Internet. Dialup might work, but you really need a high-speed connection. The good news for any Mac users is that this method works for you as well as for the PC.
There are 2 alternatives available, both uses the sony memory stick to store the movies.
With the PSP switched off, connect the USB cable to the PSP and to the computer, then switch on the PSP. On the PSP access: Settings > USB Connection. Next, press the X button to boot the PSP on to the computer, where it will appear on the desktop as an untitled volume. Inside the memory card you should see a folder named "PSP" and inside that folder there will be four sub-folders of, "Games", "Music", "Saveddata", and "Photo". You must add a new folder here named, "MP_ROOT" (without the quotes) which must be in the same level as the "PSP" folder. Under the "MP_ROOT" folder add a sub-folder named "100MNV01" -- this is where your MP4 videos and their accompanying thumbnail files (*.THM) will be stored.
So, if you want countless hours of entertainment by watching your favorite DVD movies in your PSP, you might want to rip and convert the movie first to MP4 format by using a DVD to PSP converter software program.
