The KJV is 98% accurate (See Westcott and Hort) and A.T. Robertson.?
In 1516,Erasmus made the first printed Greek New Testament that came to be called the Textus Receptus (English KJV 1611) as the received text. He had a handfull of ancient MSS to guide him. In the following years when over 3000 MSS began to appear. Tischendorf found the Sinaitus MSS, a complete copy of the NT at the foot of MT Sinai in an old vaz used by nuns to store fire starters. In it was a complete Greek copy of the entire NT. Other scholars joined him over time when thousands of other GK MSS were unearthed. Up until about 1700 scholars grappled over this massive new source of textual evidence. Final conclusion. The KJV is 98% accurate. There were no errors but orthographic mistakes of scribes (without glasses or hearing aids. That's 2% of the residuary whole. Not one item of our faith is in jeopardy by the KJV. 98% accurate =/= inerrant. 100% accurate = inerrant.
It's also far from 98% accurate. With stories added, edited, and deleted, I can't see how one can make the claim that it is 98% accurate. The Catholics and Protestants use two different Bibles. The Apocryphal books add 7 different books to the Bible. That's going to be more than a 2% accuracy problem. Archeology is showing that many of the locations are not accurately portrayed for their time. The writers couldn't even get Jesus' genealogy consistent. It has rabbits eating cud. It has walls around cities that never had them. It has weapons being used that hadn't been invented yet. It has people in charge that weren't born yet. Revelation hasn't even occurred so it can't even be assumed to be correct.
Sorry but those who claim the Bible is 98% accurate are 100% wrong.
