N900 bricked, help?!?

So i've tried to install the "NITdroid" and it seems it went bad, i can't start Maemo anymore, i can't even start the NITdroid.

When i turn on the phone the Uboot pops out and one message pops out "press any key to stop the autoboot" i press and nothing happens, the phone turns off, when i let kernel to read it says unable to read boot.scr from mmc and ulimage something like that and after that phone turns off.

When i try to plug it in wall charger the phone turns on by itself, when i try to connect USB same story...

What to do?

you have to put the clean Maemo5 back on the N900, which is called re-flashing the firmware.

a couple warnings:
- the windows version of the flasher tool works only (well) on 32 bit versions of LostDOS, preferably XP SP3 or v!$t0 SP2; 7 (32 bit) may or may not work.
- if you don't have a recent backup of your data, it is possible to re-flash only the firmware (Maemo5) but to leave your data untouched.

files you need to download (i will assume you have LostDOS 32 bit PC for the sake of simplicity)

install the flasher (which will by default go to C:Program Filesmaemoflasher-3.5
if you install into another location, you will have to use that

the Maemo firmware image can only be download from NOKIA & requires the IMEI nbr. of your N900 to get; follow instructions on the site to access
i'll assume that you download to C:Program Filesmaemoflasher-3.5

if you download another one, you will have to use that file's name thereafter

/! MAKE SURE YOUR N900'S BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED BEFORE DOING THIS /!

- turn the N900 off, open its back cover & remove the battery for a while (@ least a minute); you will have to reenter country settings, date & time anyway after re-flashing

- on the windows PC open a cmd.exe (command prompt) as administrator and change to directory C:Program Filesmaemoflasher-3.5

- start flasher with
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R
use exactly those letters (-F, -f and -R) in order to keep your data
the program will display some messages and eventually complain that it can't find any connected device and go into waiting

- put the (fully charged) battery back into the N900
- close the cover, open the keyboard
- connect the USB cable you got w/ the N900 to a USB port of the PC (preferably a port @ the back of the PC)
- press and HOLD the U key on the N900 keyboard
- connect the micro-USB connector to the N900's port AND KEEP HOLDING THE U KEY
- when the flasher program found the N900 & starts uploading the firmware you can let go of the U key

Three-phase Car Charger

In recent years, the widespread use of car chargers in electric vehicles is the so-called three-phase car charger.

The first phase is called constant-current phase; the second stage is called constant voltage phase; and the third phase is called phase trickle. From the perspective of electronic technology for the batteries: the first phase is called phase charging current limiting; the second phase is called the High Pressure phase; the third stage is called a low constant voltage phase, which is more appropriate. As to transition of Phase II and Phase III, the indicator light panels correspondently take changes. The first and second stages of the majority of car chargers are red lights, while a green light appears in the third phase. The mutual conversion of Phase II and Phase III is the decision of the charge current. This current is called the conversion current, which is also called the current turning point.

Although three-phase car chargers have the feature of changing light, including the one matching with brand-name cars, in fact, they are battery chargers with the characteristic of current limiting and constant voltage, and don’t belong to   three-stage car chargers. Generally, this type has a stable voltage, 44.2V or so, which is more effective than a high proportion of sulfuric acid battery. There are some rules for people choose car chargers: 

1. When new batteries are put into use for 8-10 months, it is necessary to inspect and maintain the battery.

2. Routinely, a car charger matching with a famous car is selected, and usually needn’t to test. Otherwise, a test must be carried out.

3. There is a non-power frequency of the SCR car charger transformer, with the current of 30A, voltage 12V-80V, which is adjustable. Before the electricity completely is cut off, it is forbidden to touch the battery.

   Many phones when the battery drains past a certain point, will not charge well or fully on USB.

   Best way to test this is to get a wall charger made for the phone. You can get them on Ebay or Amazon for a decent price. Or get a rechargeable battery pack and use that the charge the phone when you need to get past a dead battery, or get a second battery.
