Can you offer some advice on waterproof cases for Nikon D3000 SLR?

I'm going on a holiday where we will be walking through gorges... a lot of the time you have to swim because the path is blocked by water. Most of the time you can just wade through but sometimes you step into a sudden dip and you get dunked completely!!!

I want to take my DSLR but I am only prepared to shell out 200-300 max $AU on a cover. reliable enough for this sort of situation?

That sort of flexible bag housing will be fine for the sort of situation you'll be in. Not suitable for deep underwater use (scuba diving) for fine for a dunk and will help to keep dirt/sand out too.

Just make sure the top seal is fully waterproof. When you first get it, try it out in a pool for example, without the camera in. If it leaks - check the seals. If there's a problem send it back.

I bought the telemetry unit for use at work in the gym. Almost all the cardio machines at my gym set and shows me a Polar heart rate transmitter which, without the need to maintain physical sensors. It may not seem a great victory, but much more comfortable to walk on the ungrateful or used elliptical machine without having to hold on heart rate sensors. 

Using the toolbar is simple: just wrap around your chest, please contact the free end of the tape and the contact sensor wet. Not on / off, so do not worry about anything except for the entry. And 'quite handy, but I really do not notice when it is switched on. Everything is made of plastic and the tape is flexible. The quality of workmanship is excellent and is completely waterproof. 

On the tape, "code", which means you do not have to worry about interference from other people wearing bands around the gym. Works with the Polar wrist offer, but said that "encryption" does not work with / Life Fitness Treadmill Precor elliptical machines and elliptical machines at my gym. It varies, but if the car next to me wearing a belt of telemetry, the device will be confused and are different in reading. Sometimes my heart will show, while others say that the person next to me. Bottom Line: Excellent for use in the strap. If you're in the gym with the receiver on your computer, be prepared to deal with some interference, if there is another transmitter in 1950-1910 meters.

Perfect Replacement

My first strap lasted several years but ended up very stretched out. This is an exact duplicate and works just as well and fits snuggly.

Effective but a bit uncomfortable in warm weather

This Transmitter works very well. I use it for spinning. It is effective in giving you feedback about your workout. The drawback is that wearing a band around your abdomen is a bit uncomfortable in warm conditions. The discomfort is worth it, though, since it allows your to work out more efficiently.

Fastening the tranasmitter

Polar make great products. I still don't know why they don't add a silicon stripe (similar to those that you find on spandex bike pants) on the transmitter or belt to improve fastening.

A good buy

I was frankly a little concerned that, despite the product description and picture, the item might not include the elastic strap with the transmitter, since Amazon listed the strap as an item frequently purchased with this item. In case anyone else is concerned, yes, it does come with the elastic strap! 

The transmitter works well in general, although I've noticed it gives me trouble when running near power lines -- I don't know if anyone has found a way to prevent that yet.

The product was received on time and in perfect condition. I use the heart rate monitor in my daily workouts. Performance is very reliable.

The product works perfectly. It was an exact replacement for the one my dog chewed up and I was very pleased to find it online. Better still, after doing some research, I found that your price was the lowest of all vendors (including the actual manufacturer, which by the way had one of the highest prices)
