Wireless Reading Ebook ebook reader for teenage son?
for my sons birthday in early november, I want to get him a good quality ebook reader. He loves reading and I know this will be a good gift for him, I just don't know which one to get. Quality is a must, and so is easibility to read. Should I take him to test some out to see what works for him, or is it that goods ones are good for everyone, bad ones are bad for everyone. The Kindle looks like the winner right now because of its many features (wireless store, etc.). What should I do?
If your son loves to mess with gadgets and doesn't mind connecting the ebook reader to his computer in order to get books, the Sony Reader models are excellent.
That said, I love gadgets, and I got a Kindle 2, and love it. It may cost more than other models, but the integrated wireless connectivity, in addition to cheaper books in general more than make up for the added cost. I use my Kindle 2 every single day, and since I got it I read far more than I used to, and a much wider variety of books.
As far as quality, Sony and Amazon are about even, though the Kindle 2 can feel cheep at times, it's very well made, and the metal back makes it feel sturdy. Although most readers are well made, you must get a case along with them, because their large screens can get scratched or broken if they're not protected before thrown into a backpack or carry on bag.
